Jeff and I were talking about business cards before class this afternoon, and we came to the conclusion that the more original and more stellar they were, the more it would cost to produce. So running with my USPS Label 228 theme, I printed off a bunch of these right at home, just as personal cards. I'll probably come back to it at a later date, maybe do a little more with it. Note: Website still under construction.

The E sheet we received earlier in the week was extremely helpful when it came to matching point sizes. Thank you Donna for giving us that!

I saw this the other day on ffffound and thought it rather funny, so I figured I would share it. ~~I wish I could say I knew who designed it, but after thirty minutes of searching, I gave up. If anyone knows, let me know.~~ This was designed by Hamish M, who has a plethora of other fun typographic designs here. Thanks to Cornell Campbell, of Flickrdesign (see below), for the designer's name.

I also added a new link, flickrdesign. Essentially, it is the same as all the other blogs, in the sense that it collects good design, except all of these are hosted on Flickr. It's a much more narrow collection, sacrificing quantity for quality, which is always nice.

Ch-Ch-Check It Out

For this first post I would like to examine Kelli Anderson's personal business card. Its function is to sell Ms. Anderson to her clients, while making her stand out from her competition. Her unique layout and design makes it an amusing and highly memorable design piece.

The style obviously reflects a New York driver license, taking nearly all the elements from the real thing. Important, minor changes (i.e. adding her email and phone) have been made however. The quality of work here is astounding, even having her card laminated and bar coded, certainly someone to keep an eye on. It's the minute details that can make or break a design, and Ms. Anderson's card proves it.

I would say it's uniqueness attracted me to it in the first place. To me, it is one of those ideas that you hate yourself for not thinking of.
